The 5 quart mixing bowl is approximately 15 inches high and easily secures into place. There are 10 speeds accessible with a simple adjustable slide knob on one side and similar looking tilt lock knob on the other side.
Rather than pull the bowl up and down to place the mixing unit in place, the Artisan features a tilt back housing like many stand mixers.
Extremely well constructed, the KitchenAid Artisan has been made in the same plant in Greenville, Ohio since 1941.
