All parts are dishwasher safe on the top shelf of the dishwasher only.

The JE98XL Juice Fountain Plus owner’s manual is very explicit about which parts are and are not dishwasher safe.  The food pusher and the top cover are the only parts (besides the motor unit of course) that are not dishwasher safe.  However, all parts should only be washed in the dishwasher on the top shelf.

For best results, clean all parts immediately after use.  Parts are easier to clean immediately after use, but also there is less of a chance of food dye staining parts if they are cleaned immediately.  Carrots are a leading culprit that can often stain plastic parts orange.  If this does occur, Breville recommends soaking the stained part in a solution of 10% lemon water.

Breville Juice Fountain Plus Complete Cleaning Instructions

Breville Juice Fountain PlusThe cleaning of the pulp container can be reduced by lining it with a produce bag. The pulp will then be collected within the bag and can be used for other meals, put on your garden as compost, or can be put in the garbage.

The food pusher and juice cover should be washed in warm, soapy water. Only a soft cloth should be used to wash it in order to avoid scratching. After washing, the items should rinsed using warm water and dried thoroughly. The filter basket should be consistently cleaned in order to ensure optimal juicing. The basket can be washed in the dish washer, but is typically best cleaned by soaking it in warm, soapy water for ten minutes. You can then use the cleaning brush that is supplied and gently scrub it while holding it under running water. It is best to begin cleaning in the center of the inside of the basket and work your way to the outer edge. There are small sharp blades in the center of the basket that require great caution when cleaning around. After you have finished cleaning, hold the basket up to the light in order to ensure that no pulp remains. If anything is left to dry onto the basket, it can begin to effect the way the juice flows through the basket. If any of the holes become blocked, they can be cleared away by adding lemon juice to hot water and allowing it to soak.

The base of the motor can be cleaned by wiping it off with a soft, damp cloth. Any food particles or juice should be wiped off of the extension cord to keep it clean as well. Do not use scouring pads when cleaning any of the parts. This could scratch the various pieces and lead to rusting and issues later.
