JUICING CONTINUOUSLY

For this reason the Multi-Speed Juice Fountain does not juice continuously because the pulp builds up quite fast in the juice collector.  This is because it does not eject juice into the pulp container with 100% efficiency.  Though it is easy to clean out, pulp does build up fast.

On the other hand, the J8006 does indeed juice continuously because pulp is neatly ejected with near perfect efficiency.

Key Differences

The Breville Multi-Speed and Omega J8006 are two entirely different juicers.

The Mutli-Speed is a mid-tier product from Breville – a company that specializes in centrifugal juicers marketed to the masses.

The Omega J8006 is a higher end masticating juicer from a company that specializes in high quality juicers marketed mostly to nutrition and juicing enthusiasts.

The Ikon Juicer is a much more convenient and faster juicer.  First of all it’s fast spinning centrifugal action will produce a glass of juice in seconds, not minutes.  Secondly, the wide 3″ feed chute minimizes the need for cutting and chopping.

However, like all high speed centrifugal juicers, the fast motion does introduce more oxidation into the juice deteriorating the juice quality especially if it is not drunk immediately after it’s made.

The Omega J8006 is not as convenient though it is slightly easier to clean.  However, it is much more versatile and introduces less oxidation.  Oxidation is the major culprit in nutrition break down.  This is the same reason why anti-oxidants are important nutrients.

From a versatility standpoint, the J8006 can not only make nut butters, but it can also grind coffee and flour as well juice leafy greens and wheat grass very well.

Breville Multi-Speed Ikon Juicer

breville-ikon-juicer-lBeing a centrifugal juicer, the Breville Ikon Juicer is built for efficiency. With its high-speed blades rotating at excesses of 6,500 RPMs, this juicer shreds any fruit, vegetable, or other juicing ingredient to pulp within seconds; it then extracts the juice through a mesh and into the juice jug. The simplicity of the process makes this a great choice for beginners. There are customizable options available in the juicer’s display interface that allow for changing the blade speed, which is a great feature for advanced users who know that the fastest speed is not necessarily the best in every situation.

For the price conscious, the Breville Ikon is about $100 less than the Omga 8006.

Omega Juice Center

Omega 8006 Juicer smallAs a masticating juicer, the Omega 8006 Juicer is built for effectiveness. Juice yield is the goal of this juicer which utilizes a juicing process of grinding and tearing ingredients at a speed of 80 RPMs. It is a slow process that works well for leafy green ingredients and also maximizes ingredient expenditure for more juice yield with fewer ingredients. Versatility is also a key feature of this juicer.  This product also has the ability to create nut butters and baby food as well as grind coffee.

If a product that can do more than just juice is desirable, then the Omega 8006 Juicer and its many features is the superior choice.

Summary

The Ikon is more appropriate for someone with an active lifestyle who wants juice made quickly.  The Omega is more appropriate for the serious juicer who, for example wants to juice kale and wheat grass.

The Ikon gets many more style points, unless your home has a retro look – in which case the Omega is the more appropriate choice.
