Breville Juice Fountain Elite:

Juice Fountain EliteThis juicer, with its Italian-made motor, is big on power and advertises 30 percent more juice extraction than most of other comparable juicers. It utilizes a steel mesh basket filter to filter juice and pulp. The Juice Fountain Elite’s motor has two speeds and an extra-large tube for feeding in vegetables and fruits. The Breville Juice Fountain Elite comes with a one-year limited warranty and a three-year motor warranty.  All-in-all, this is a great juicer for people with an active lifestyle that do not want to do a lot of prep work and chopping and want to be able to churn out a glass of juice in seconds rather than minutes.

Omega 8006:

Omega J8006 JuicerThe Omega J8006 has a dual-stage system that guarantees maximum efficiency with no clogging, foaming and limited oxidation. The Omega yields very dry pulp with its automatic pulp ejection function. It boasts high juice yield juice and is backed by an astounding 15-year warranty. Its stabilizing feet and heavy-duty construction contribute to almost effortless juicing though the size of the feed chute at 1.5″ does require chopping and prep work.  Also produce processes through the machine at a slower rate than it would though a high speed centrifugal juicer.

Construction:

Both juicers are in the same league in durability and ease of use.  It can definitely be said that both machines have superior craftsmanship and construction.

Cleaning:

The Juice Fountain Elite has easy-to-clean parts, most of which are dishwasher safe. The Omega J8006 has extra-quiet operation and is somewhat easier to clean, though both models are easy to clean.

The difference is twofold.  First, the mesh filter in the Juice Fountain Elite can get clogged and require scrubbing and/or soaking.  Second, Centrifugal juicers sling pulp everywhere though it is captured in an enclosed system of tight fitting lids.  Still there is quite a mess inside the juicer.  The Omega on the other hand neatly ejects the pulp with near complete efficiency into whatever container you choose.

Juicing Continuously

For this reason the Juice Fountain Elite does not juice continuously because the pulp builds up quite fast in the juice collector.  This is because it does not eject juice into the pulp container with 100% efficiency.  Though it is easy to clean out, pulp does build up fast.

On the other hand, the J8006 does indeed juice continuously because pulp is neatly ejected with near perfect efficiency.

Juice Quality & Oxidation

Oxidation is a major culprit in degrading the nutritional value of juice.  It is recommended that with both juicers the juice is drank immediately after juicing.  However, this is especially true with high-speed centrifugal models such as the Juice Fountain Elite.  The J8006 tends to oxidize juice less due to its slower speed.

Verdict:

The Omega has many advantages including juice yield and quality, but it does require a bit more time and effort than the user-friendly Juice Fountain Elite.  Though not as fast, The Omega J8006 is indeed more versatile and capable of juicing just about anything including wheatgrass or soft berries.  You can even make salsa peanut butter with it.

The J8006 is ideal for a serious juicer.  The Juice Fountain Elite is ideal for someone with an active lifestyle who needs to be out there door fast.

I would say that Breville is a much savvier company when it comes to marketing their products, though they do manufacture a quality juicer.  Omega is less savvy at product marketing but builds a better juicer in many respects.  In a sense, the Juice Fountain Elite is an extremely convenient juicer for the masses and the Omega is a juicer for the more patient serious juicer.
