Make an informed buying decision based on your personal tastes and preferences. Use the content and table below to compare the differences of the two most popular Breville Juicers.

The Juice Fountain Elite is simply an upgraded version of the Juice Fountain Plus.  As you can tell from the pictures of each model, they are nearly identical except that the Juice Fountain Elite is constructed from different materials.

It isn’t hard to guess what Breville may have been thinking.   The Juice Fountain Plus was a commercial success.  Naturally there would be an impluse to build on that success and make a better version.  One obvious way to do this is to replace all of the plastic with heavy duty die-cast metal.

As you can see the Juice Fountain Elite (top) is an upgraded, but otherwise identical, version of the Juice Fountain Plus (bottom).

There are some a few major and a few minor differences that will be covered one by one below.

Construction

Probably the most major difference.  The juice fountain plus is constructed from high grade polymers.  That is plastic, although high quality plastic, but plastic none the less in laymans terms.  The juice Fountain Elite is mostly constructed from all stainless steel.  In fact it is high-grade die cast metal stainless steel.

bje510xl top coverThe only visible part that are not stainless steel is the top part of the top cover, but the feed chute that is also part of the top cover is stainless steel.  This is probably so that there is a really good fit since pulp is slung everywhere violently inside the juice collector.  This also helps you see when the juice collector fills up with pulp and needs to be cleaned out.

Of course the food pusher and the pulp contaner are BPA plastic as well.  The motor housing of the Juice Fountain Plus appears to be stainless steel but it is actually gray colored plastic.

Price

One of the major differences is price.  There is a significant difference in price.  The Elite has a suggested retail price of $399 vs the suggested retail price of $199 for the Juice Fountain Plus.

Styling

Without a doubt the nearly all metal Juice Fountain Elite is much classier better looking machine.

Juice Jug

The Juice Fountain Plus does have a key advantage over the upgraded version.  The upgraded version, maybe because it was made with heavy duty metal does not have a cut out space so you can neatly fit your own container under the spout.  See the pictures below.

The Juice Fountain Plus (below) DOES have a space for you own container.

Juice Fountain Plus Space for Container

The Juice Fountain Elite (below) requires you to use the included specially shaped juice jug to fit neatly against the base.

You can see the slot in the juice fountain above more clearly in the full size pictures above.

This is important for those that want to avoid drinking out of plastics.  There is evidence that drinking out of plastic exposes the body to synthetic estrogen compounds, which in turn raise estrogen levels unnaturally.

For example here is an excerpt from an article about movie star Shailene Woodley:

“She drinks out of a Mason jar and harvests her own drinking water.

Woodley carries the glass jar with her everywhere to avoid “exposing herself or the planet to the estrogen-like chemicals used in plastics.” When she’s in Los Angeles, Woodley “lugs 5-gallon carboys up in the mountains to capture her own drinking water.”

Minor Differences

Users may notice is the capacity of the pulp container. The 2.6-quart (2.5 liter) container of the Juice Fountain® Plus is practical, but the Elite version holds 3.2 quarts (3 liters).

The Breville Juice Fountain® Plus provides smooth powerful juicing with its stainless steel cutting disc, but Breville upgraded the Elite version to titanium-reinforced stainless steel cutting blades.

For high speed processing, the Plus version has a 12,000 rpm speed and the Elite version contains a faster 13,000-rpm speed setting. The 12,000 and 13,000 rpm speeds are for harder or denser fruits and vegetables like apples and beets.

Both can juice pineapples with the rinds on.
