Breville
Breville was founded in Sydney Australia in 1932 and got its start by manufacturing the first sandwich toaster. Breville built its brand on the success of its first sandwich makers so much so that the word "Breville" is also synonymous (generic trademark) for a sandwich toaster and a toasted sandwich itself is still called a "breville" in Australia and South Africa.
Breville's leadership focused intensely on reasearch and development in the 1970s, which has resulted in the Brand becoming a market leader in several small appliance categories. Today Breville Juice Fountains hold about 20% of the marketshare - more than any other brand of juicers.

Separate pulp collector means you don't have to take apart the juicer to clean out pulp. Extra wide feeder chute is large enough to fit a whole apple and saves you precious prep time cutting and chopping.
Two speed centrifugal juicer. Operate on "high" speed (12,000 RPMs) to make super quick work out of dense fruits and vegetables. The 850 watt motor has no problem juicing tough produce such as rind-on pineapples and carrots.

The processing blades feature diagonal knife blades that are housed on a titanium-plated stainless steel cutting disc. The blades themselves are pretty mean looking as compared to cheese grater style blades of other less efficient juicers. The blade disc contains 115 separate cutting surfaces to process pulp yielding the maximum amount of juice for a centrifugal juicer. The Breville Juice Fountain Elite uses a patent technology that feeds produce directly to the center of the cutting surface. This has several advantages but mainly it captures more juice by requiring a longer distance for juice to travel to get to the filter edges of the disc. the end result is less juice lost.

Breville BJE510XL Ikon Juicer
$167.94Breville teamed up with juice bars to craft the Breville Juice Fountain Elite, but then took everything it learned from that process and created the Breville Ikon Juicer. The Ikon Juicer has a lot fo the improved features of the Juice Fountain Elite at a more affordable price point.
However, this Breville juicer also has one feature that no other Breville Juicer to my knowledge has - 5 variable speeds. Adjusting the speds is actually more important than it sounds. High speeds are important to quickly juice tough vegetables without straining the motor. However, many high water content fruits and vegetables such as melons and tomatoes will simply get thrown out of the juicer too fast minimizes the potential juice yield. By operating at a slower speed you can maximize the juice yield and minimize the mess created.
Another noticeable feature that even the Juice Fountain Elite does not have is the blue back-lit LCD screen. With five multiple speed settings a digital display becomes more convenient.

Sometimes you want nutritious vegetable juice. Sometimes you want a delicious fruit smoothie. Now you can make both with one appliance! The Juice and Blend features a blender you can use to blend whole berries, bananas, or grapes. No need to waste any pulp on delicious fruits. When it comes to vegetables and tougher fruits like the rind-on pineapple, the juicer part still makes healthy juice and blends produce such as carrots that you would never think to put in a blender.
Breville combined the best of two appliances in one! Both the blender and juicer function of the Juice & Blend™ operate off the same base. Combine blended items with juiced items for a fantastic healthy drink without lugging out and storing two appliances.

Juice a Wider Variety of Fruits
Breville has come out with a juicer that can finally juice berries, mango, and yes even bananas. The Puree disc now allows you to make what Breville calls "Fruijies." Fruijies are fruit smoothies made from soft fruits such as bananas that have a thick cream texture without any common traditional thickeners such as yogurt. This is great for all you Vegans out there!
What makes the Dual Disc Juice Processor different is the two disc inserts.
The traditional Nutri Disc is good for harder fruits and vegetables.
The Puree disc is the new part. As the company describes it is "a stainless steel puree disc and soft fruit insert helps ensure maximum yield from your softest fruit and vegetables."
This commercial quality juicer produces the most juice volume out of the widest variety of fresh produce items, including soft and more delicate fruits like berries to fruits and vegetables with a harder consistency such as apples, carrots and celery. The central feed chute delivers high performance since fruits and vegetables are distributed right over the shredding disc resulting in a more efficient juicing motion.

The traditional Nutri Disc shown on the left and the puree disc for softer fruits (even bananas) show on the right.
